Introduction:
Formulation: Emulsifiable Concentrate (EC) containing 50% Malathion.

Type: Liquid insecticide that needs to be diluted with water before application.

Mode of Action:

• Entry: Enters insects through contact, ingestion, or inhalation.
• Bioactivation: Converted to the more toxic malaoxon inside the insect.
• Mechanism: Malaoxon inhibits the enzyme acetylcholinesterase Katyayani MAL50 Malathion 50% EC(AChE), leading to an accumulation of acetylcholine (ACh) in nerve cells, causing overstimulation, muscle contractions, tremors, paralysis, and death.
